Bognor Schools affected by closures on the 30th June
Tomorrow, Thursday 30th June, sees one of the country's biggest days of industrial action by public sector workers since the 1970's with an estimated 750,000 employees downing tools to show their distaste at the governments plans on pension reform. Teachers are claiming the pensions contract and terms signed recently are being overturned meaning threefold increases in their personal donations and an extended working life that takes them to a retirment age of 68. Is this too old to be a teacher ? Given an average teachers life expectancy is one of the lowest of all professionals the answer has to be yes. However you feel about it chances are if you have children you're going to have to make some compensations of your own tomorrow as most won't be at school. Here's a list of local schools affected by strike action below; and if you feel like telling us your views on the walkout and how it affects you then why not post your comments here at bognorregispeople.co.uk:-
