Congratualtions to Bognors A grade Students

As a landlord with a number of student properties in the local area, I'd like to say a big well done to all those local school children who had their exam results last week. On the face of it, it seems rising standards and an increase in the number of university goers can only be a good thing and without being a killjoy I wish all these young people the best of luck and utmost success. But I also worry about the quality of the education they are coming from and that which they are often about to recieve particularly in our area as the growth of Chichester University seems unbounded.I have recently experienced a huge influx of 1st year students firstly asking and then finding a lack of accomodation at the university's halls. There simply isn't the facilities to accommodate the numbers of students on the courses they run.
The Universities are under increasing pressure to justify themselves financially meaning they see large volumes of students on "light" courses as a means to a financial end. Where does this leave our students, however ? Underfunded, debt ridden, jobloss and lacking the skills to implement in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
