Man to face crown court over accusations he abused two boys

A MAN has appeared in court charged with indecently assaulting two young boys in Crowborough in the 1990s.

Martin Cleverly faces seven charges of indecent assault on two boys aged under 14 between 1993 and 1995.

The 45-year-old also faces three charges of unlawful sexual activity with a boy aged 14 – in Bognor Regis in 2009 and 2010 – and five offences of making indecent images of children and 11 of distributing indecent images of children.

Cleverly, of Glamis Street, Bognor Regis, was arrested in September 2010 and charged last month. He appeared at Chichester Magistrates' Court on police bail on Monday facing a total of 26 charges.

The case was sent to Chichester Crown Court where he will enter a plea on April 26.

The case has come to court after an intelligence-led investigation by the Paedophile On-Line Investigation Unit, Sussex Police said.
