Searches for local information are done by virtually all smartphone users and consumers are ready to act on the information they find.

  •  95% of smartphone users have looked for local information
  • 88% of these users take action within a day, indicating these are immediate information needs
  • 77% have contacted a business, with 61% calling and 59% visiting the local business

These are some of the key findings from "The Mobile Movement: Understanding Smartphone Users," a study from Google and conducted by Ipsos OTX, an independent market research firm.

It's clear, more and more people are using mobile devices such as smart-phones to access the internet and shop for services or products. Few website owners realise that a site designed for general viewing on a PC  looks terrible or maybe doesn't work at all on a mobile device!

Check for yourself – go here and check out your website to see how it will display on an iPhone.

A mobile website is optimised to display well and load fast on mobile devices and make navigation easier for mobile users. If someone is searching for a service or product on a mobile device then they are usually in a hurry – are they going to wait around for a normal website to load? No. They will move onto the next site – and if your site is designed to display quickly and provide the information they need instantly then it is you they are going to buy from.

To help local business owners make sure they have a web presence that is optimised for viewing on mobile devices we have created a mobile website package that is affordable for any business – in fact you really can't afford to ignore this!
