The Bognor Regis Regeneration Task set up in 2007 has done a magnificent job and much of what is happening around the town and is in the pipeline would not have happend without the drive and imagination of Richard McMann and his team. Thanks for your input Norman. As we all know its the tangible bricks and mortar that people make a judgement on and whether these things make a real difference to the lives of Bognor's residents.
Most of what you list are creditable achievements in themselves but are sometimes seen as isolated examples that are detached from peoples everyday experiences, say for example the improvements to the university campus or the new hotels at Butlins; not really things that most people who live and work in the town have much experience of. The jury is still out on the St Modwen proposals as nothing has been built yet and with such an uncertain economic future ahead this seems very much in the balance.
If you take a look at the pictures of our disgraceful pier, in the pictures section on here, it's not surprising that people who live in the town still have a less than joyful vision of what the regeneration task force has achieved.
