As part of the Section 106 scheme, £500,000 is owed to the

town as a result of Sainsbury’s being granted planning permission for a new

store on the old LEC site.  But no one’s

quite sure what to do with it and people are worried it will be left down to an

unimaginative council.

Local businesswoman Suzi Buckley, 31 has lived in the town

since she was 11 years old and states that innovation and fresh ideas are what’s

needed.  Miss Buckley noticed some of her

local councillors on facebook and began voicing her ideas on ways to spend the

money.  She also adds that the council

should consider interviewing students and residents in nursing homes to find

out what would benefit them locally, as well as surveying tourists and finding

out what would make them more likely to return to the area.

This is a big deal for Bognor - what would you like to see the money spent on?  In this climate of cuts and thrift, should we

blow it out on some landmark artwork?  Or

think more long term with a seasonal memorial garden?  Will regular markets bring business to the

town?  Let us know what you think!

Miss Buckley might get more appreciation with regards to her consultation if she asked residents there opinion's after all the majority of residents in Nursing homes, are bed bound or unable to get around as much as they used to. Students tend to be commuting or living in bedsits on atemporary basis going returning home, to spend there vacation times somewhere other than in Bognor Regis. Local folk who live and work in the area are the ones who's opinion is more vallid than folk restricted to nursing homes and commuters only here during term time at the college

The people running our council must realise that they are milking the gravy train and it will be onlyso long before the people of Bognor Regis will call a halt to this at the ballot box. It is time for folk to unite and work against these so called do gooders and make sure that we do good for Bognor Regis

I designed a new pier for bognor some years ago, with an entertainment centre for the Regeneration Group plus a proposal for a light tramway to Chichester, but no one took the slightest bit of notice and we still have a rusting eyesore.

Please spend some of it removing the so call phallis symbol and spend the rest revamping the Seafront. It should be made more entertaining for tourists as well as local people. Butlins brings in all year round visitors, if they had more to do along the seafront moremoney would be spent in Bognor. Another idea would be to enlarge the Bandstand so that we could have monthly concerts on the actual seafront the like's of the entertainment that is on offer in Southsea. That pulls in lots of money for Southsea lets have some of that. They have Brass Bands, Country Music, and it always appears to be great. I have watched children and adults of all ages have the most amazing time there. It would be wonderful if entertainment was given to local people here in Bognor Regis making it become a place to attract all ages for years to come.
