This weekend sees the opening of a new museum in West street in Bognor. The building that was once the Berkley Arms has been turned in to a treasure trove of old photos and  the intriguing history of Bognor Regis.

Local historian volunteers have been working hard to get the place ready for public opening tomorrow Saturday 2nd April. Remarkably the building was a donation to the local history society by Bognor resident Jenny Jones, who bought the Berkley Arms a few years ago.

Thanks to her generosity, the society now have a much larger space to display their exhibits, many of which have been tucked away in a storeroom for years due to the lack of space at the old museum in the High Street.

The new museum will be open Tuesday to Thursday each week and will open on Bank Holiday Mondays.

For those of you who won't get down to the museum or would like to read some fascinating information about Bognor's history before you pay the museum a visit, take a look at the website http://www.bognor-local-history.co.uk/index.html . It's packed with photos and articles and even a timeline so you can really learn about our past.
