Famed throughout the country for it's long sunshine hours and balmy seasonal sunshine Bognor Regis has also suffered from unusually severe winters this year and last.  As our contributor below points out there is also alarming forecasts for October and November, with heavy snow predicted in this area and others.

News in Brighton today of the purchase of new super gritters to dust the streets and prevent a repeat of my slide into broken rib agony on its slippery pavements last year, must be greeted with cheer.  But what of our own town ?  Howwill we cope if the forecasts ring true ?

"STAY INDOORS" may be good advice in the short term; so making sure you're properly provded for when the snows come is good starting point.

Updating insulation to lofts and walls could be a sure fire method to keeping the heat in.  Local Architectural company ADS can advise on best practice and cheap alternatives.  Grants have also been recently available from Arun District Council.

Of course you'll need to make sure the heat is on and if you want to get the best from your boiler, especially with spiralling gas bills around the corner, it will need a good servicing.  Always make sure your preferred plumber is SAFE registered;  there's a comprehensive list of local plumbers here to choose from.

So you're now feeling pretty snug in your re-insulated boiler efficient nest.  You deserve a nice treat for all your hard work....... but with all that snow on the ground how are you going to get to the local shop for that well earned tipple in front of the fire ?

Well the answer is all about preperation.  And thats what it takes when planning for this winter as a trip to JW's snow wear range is sure to show you.   Happy Sledging !!!
